Well, according to the Yahoo! Developer’s Network blog, there have been some rumours going on about MyBlogLog being closed down (hmm…I hadn’t heard these rumours, were were you, Shirley?! 
). But they said that even though they haven’t decided to close MyBlogLog down yet, they are still discussing the future of MyBlogLog and it being closed down is an option.
Well, I think that if they close MyBlogLog down it’s going to have an effect on the traffic of some blogs because I know that there might definitely be some blogs who get some of their traffic from MyBlogLog.
And also I think it would be a win situation for BlogCatalog and other blog directories and blog communities, because when MyBlogLog closes down all the members (including me) will have to pack our bags (now just wondering how many bags I’ve got there ) and go find ourselves new homes to rent or buy, including the apartments, condos, duplexes, mansions, and castles 
oh and tents too, I forgot about that. So these new homes, that is, the apartments, condos, and etc are the BlogCatalogs and other blog directories.
I also again think that Yahoo! will lose out somewhere somehow when they close MyBlogLog or will they rather benefit? Well, sometimes when a business decides to close down a part of their business it means they are not getting what they desire from that particular part of their business or it’s costing them resources without giving them enough returns to override the costs, and sometimes also when a business decides to shut down a part of their business they sometimes lose out when they shut down that particular part of their business. So right now, for me, I think it’s two things for Yahoo!, either they benefiting or losing out by closing down MyBlogLog.

I will not miss it the only messages you Get on these Blogging Networks are Spam. I think you are just Better off Going from Blog to Blog Placing Comments and Combining it with Twitter and Facebook to Connect with Other Blogs. Because these Networks just Bug you with messages from people asking you to link to unrelated Blogs and Very little Traffic

I think it’s pretty lame that they haven’t decided what to do yet. I guess they just made the announcement so they could see what the reaction would be. They also aren’t saying if they are going to replace it with something better or not. I would say to my fellow bloggers, don’t even worry about it. Easy come easy go.

Fingers crossed that MyBlogLog survives. It’s not exactly my favourite platform ( far from it really) – but it is still useful and I wouldn’t like to see such a project disappear into empty space.
